Dear friends of Amrita Performing Arts!

As we near the end of the year, we are pleased to share a few updates for our 2012 season.

In January 2012 we will complete the first stage of development of a new work of contemporary dance entitled PARA-HUMAN with Indonesian choreographer Eko Supriyanto which is being commissioned by the Singapore National Museum. A public showing of the work in progress will be presented in Phnom Penh on January 7 and the world premiere will take place in Singapore in July 2012.

Ten performances of Stravinsky's opera PERSEPHONE directed by Peter Sellars featuring four of our dancers, will run at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Spain from January 14 – 29.

CRACK, our new work of contemporary dance by Arco Renz, will be presented between March and September 2012 in numerous venues including in Belgium, Germany, Indonesia and Cambodia. Please follow our website for dates and venues.

We look forward to our next contemporary dance workshop with US based choreographer
Cynthia Ling Lee which will culminate in a public showing of the new work in progress on March 9 2012. This exchange is being supported by the Taiwan National University of the Arts.

Our Cambodian play BREAKING THE SILENCE by Dutch director / writer Annemarie Prins will tour to Rwanda in March / April 2012 in collaboration with
La Benevolencija, Kigali. More details will be posted on our website.
